Plein air session at Hame on Skye

Everything had to be perfect for our stay on the Isle of Skye. We had been planning it for years and were so looking forward to it. We’d created a very detailed map on Google with all the highlights we wanted to see. Five whole days of our two week trip to Scotland were planned for Skye alone. And so we had to find the perfect hotel. We vacillated for quite a while between a classic hotel, an Airbnb and a pod for our stay and ultimately decided on a hotel that looked like a cottage with the very best location that gave us both the flexibility and comfort we were looking for - stylish and comfortable rooms, a delicious home-made Scottish breakfast and a good base for exploring the island. We found it all at Hame on Skye.

The beautiful view from the terrace was a very pleasant extra! So, on a rainy day when we decided to take it easy and not go hiking but recuperate and rest, I made myself comfortable on the hotel terrace and decided to squeeze in another session of plein air.

It was low tide, so I didn’t get the best out of the otherwise perfectly serene view, but it still was a great way to spend the day, an excellent exercise and very enjoyable!

Discover how a little sketch forms before your very eyes. Ah, if only it could go as quickly as in a timelapse!

I hope you enjoyed coming with me on this little plein air session and appreciated learning more about my way of working!
