Deep Roots

Landscape painting in oil inspired by my recent trip to the North Yorkshire Moors. August is the month when heather comes into bloom and paints all the delightful rolling hills of the Yorkshires in all shades and hues of purple. What strikes me most are the lone trees, standing tall amidst the heather, dominating the landscape.
