Having visited the Isle of Skye and the Old Man of Storr for the first time this year, I felt compelled to paint it and try and capture the feeling I had when I first set eyes on this indescribable landscape. This place felt unfathomable, old and otherworldly. This is why depicting it at dawn seemed most fitting for me. This work is one of my largest Scottish landscape paintings.
