Callanish Standing Stones
Despite the many theories regarding the origin, original aspect and exact use of stone circles, they remain shrouded in mystery. Are they solar and lunar observatories, places of ceremony and worship, social gathering places or works of art? I only know they make my heart sing and my eyes shine.
While this design is not an exact representation, setting the standing stone in a woodland scene, it is based on some of the Callanish Standing Stones.
Every print is numbered and signed. This is a limited edition of 50 prints.
The design is drawn by hand straight onto the lino block, then carefully carved out of it, inked with a roller before finally being printed onto a selected luxury Japanese paper by hand using a baren.
Please beware that all prints are individually hand printed and will therefore have each minor variations and imperfections - this is part of the magic of lino printing!
